HAPPY TEETH

Teach dental education to elementary students for an hour! Our curriculum provides an overview of basic dental anatomy, nutrition, cavities, and how to brush and floss.These 5-12 year old students are very eager to learn about dental hygiene and are excited to see all the models and activities we have for them! Come join us and teach interactive oral hygiene lessons to these kids!

PRE-DENTALS FOR SMILING SENIORS

Location: Belmont Village For Senior Living located at 10475 Wilshire Boulevard
Work alongside senior citizens while doing dental related activities and board games! Volunteers will be interacting with a group of about 10 seniors and playing games such as bingo, scrabble, UNO and more. These seniors really enjoy visitors, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect with them!

MEALS ON WHEELS
Date/Time: Every Weekday Except for Tuesdays, from 10:15 am - 12:30 pm
Location: 900 Hilgard Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90024
Meals on Wheels is a non-profit, community service organization that provides nutritious meals and friendship to elderly individuals who are unable to plan, shop or prepare meals for themselves due to illness, disability, or advanced age. Help give back by volunteering to deliver meals to the homes of elderly individuals! You can also receive PDSOP community service credit by making holiday cards for these individuals! Thus far, PDSOP members have made cards for Halloween and Thanksgiving- stay tuned for more card-making opportunities to be announced at weekly meetings.
How: Please email pdsop.communityservice@gmail.com by Sunday of the week before you wish to volunteer. Additionally, please make sure to sign-in to the yellow notepad when you go into the office to receive credit. BLOOD DRIVE
Date/Time: Anyday
Location: Blood and Platelet Center in Ackerman A-level
Give back to the UCLA community by donating blood! The UCLA Blood and Platelet Center also gives out movie tickets, meal vouchers, or 4 hours of pay time if you work for UCLA. Remember to bring a photo ID and don’t forget to eat a good meal beforehand.
CHALLAH FOR HUNGER

Challah for Hunger is an organization that brings students together to bake and sell challah to raise money and awareness for social justice causes. Come volunteer and bake with us!

FAMILY STEM NIGHT
Date/Time: Tuesday, Nov. 19th from 6 pm-7pm
Location: 4110 W. 154th St Lawndale, CA 90260
Host a booth at the 4th annual STEM Night at Will Rogers Middle School where you can teach students and families about dentistry and proper dental hygiene!

CARE HARBOR LOS ANGELES
Date/Time: November 15-17 (Friday-Sunday); 7:00AM-2:30PM /12:00PM-5:00PM
Location: The Reef; 1933 South Broadway Los Angeles, CA 90007
Pre-Dental students will have the opportunity to participate in data collection, preventative education, paperwork, escorting patients, supply organization, instrument sterilization, etc. in a free clinic serving the uninsured, underinsured, and underserved populations.
